About Performance Prizes

About performance prizes

Built for people who train, compete and push for more

I’m Oliver, one of the people behind Performance Prizes.

I’ve always been into sport and training in some form. These days, it’s mainly CrossFit, running, cycling and hiking, but over the years I’ve tried plenty of different things — team sports, mixed martial arts, gym training, endurance events, golf and a few challenges that were probably a bit outside my comfort zone at the time.

I’m not a professional athlete. I’m just someone who enjoys training, likes having good kit, and knows how expensive the fitness world can get when you start taking it seriously.

That’s a big part of why we started Performance Prizes.

A good fitness watch can cost hundreds. Running shoes are rarely cheap. Recovery tools, sports headphones, gymwear, cycling gear and home gym equipment can quickly become a serious spend. Most people who train have something they’d love to buy, upgrade or try – but the price makes them think twice.

Performance Prizes was created to give people a chance to win that kind of kit.

Not random prizes for the sake of it. Not throwaway products. Not things that have nothing to do with our audience.

We’re focused on fitness, sport, recovery, performance tech and active lifestyle prizes – the sort of things people who train would actually be excited to win.

Why Performance Prizes exists

There are already a lot of competition sites in the UK.

Some focus on cars. Some focus on cash. Some focus on luxury items or general tech. There’s nothing wrong with that, but we wanted to build something more specific.

Performance Prizes is for people who train, run, lift, ride, compete, recover, get outdoors and enjoy investing in better kit.

We also wanted the site to feel clearer and more straightforward.

One thing that has always stood out to us with some competition sites is how hard it can be to understand what you’re really entering. A ticket might look incredibly cheap at first glance, but if there are very high ticket caps, your actual chances can be much harder to judge.

We don’t want Performance Prizes to feel like that.

We want our competitions to be easy to understand. You should be able to see the prize, the ticket price, the maximum number of tickets, the draw date, the entry limits and the available entry routes before deciding whether to enter.

That doesn’t mean everyone can win. It is still a prize competition, and there will always be odds involved. But we believe people should be able to make that decision with the key information in front of them.

That is the standard we’re trying to build around.

Prizes chosen with a purpose

Every prize on Performance Prizes should make sense for the brand.

That could be a pair of running shoes, a sports watch, gymwear vouchers, headphones for training, recovery equipment, nutrition vouchers, cycling kit, home gym equipment or a full performance bundle.

If it fits into training, recovery, sport or an active lifestyle, it fits what we’re trying to build.

We’d rather run fewer competitions that feel relevant than fill the site with random prizes just to keep it busy. The goal is to build a prize lineup that people genuinely care about, especially if they already spend time in the gym, on the road, on the trails, on the bike or preparing for events.

The best prizes are the ones people look at and think, “I was going to buy that anyway.”

That’s the gap we want to sit in.

Clear, simple and transparent

clear odds

We know trust matters in this space.

New competition sites have to earn it. We don’t expect people to land on the site for the first time and instantly know who we are or what we’re about. That’s why we want to be as clear as possible from the start.

Our focus is on:

We’re not trying to dress things up or make the site feel more complicated than it needs to be.

You should know what the prize is, how the competition works, when it closes and how the winner is selected. If that information isn’t easy to find, we need to improve it.

That’s the kind of brand we want Performance Prizes to become.

What we’re building towards

future prizes

We’re still early, but we’ve got big plans for where Performance Prizes can go.

Right now, we’re starting with focused fitness, sport and performance prizes. Over time, we’d love to build towards bigger and more ambitious competitions — things like premium fitness tech bundles, dream garage gym builds, cycling packages, running weekends, HYROX competition entries, event travel, overnight stays and full performance experiences.

That’s the long-term direction.

But before any of that, the priority is getting the basics right: good prizes, clear competitions, smooth entries, reliable draws, visible winners and a brand people feel comfortable coming back to.

We’d rather grow properly than rush it.

Built by people who understand the audience

Performance Prizes is not a faceless site built around whatever prize happens to sell.

We understand this audience because we’re part of it.

We know what it’s like to compare sports watches for weeks before buying one. We know how quickly running shoes wear out. We know the difference a good pair of headphones can make on a long run. We know the appeal of a better recovery setup, a stronger home gym or a new bit of kit that makes training feel that bit more enjoyable.

That’s why the prize selection matters to us.

We want Performance Prizes to feel like it belongs in the fitness and performance space, not like a generic competition site with a few sports prizes added on.

Join us from the start

Performance Prizes is at the beginning of its journey.

We’ll keep improving the site, testing new prize ideas, listening to feedback and building more trust as we go. There’s a lot we want to do, but we know it has to be built step by step.

If you’re into fitness, running, CrossFit, cycling, hiking, HYROX, gym gear, recovery tech or just like the idea of winning something you’d actually use, we’d love to have you involved.

Take a look at our latest competitions, enter one of our free draws, follow us on social, and see what we’re building.

We’re here to create prize competitions for people who train, compete and push for more.

And this is just the start.
